Gorropu: the canyon in Supramonte
Gorropu Gorge is a deep canyon located in the vast area of Supramonte in Urzulei.
The gorge, born from the erosive action of the Rio Flumineddu, with its over 500 meters of height is considered one of the deepest canyons in Europe. The departure is possible from three access points, from which to start a walk of variable duration depending on the chosen route.
Once downstream, the path winds through large limestone rocks smoothed by water that alternate with points where the seabed is gravelly and sandy, until entering the impressive and majestic sections of the canyon that retain rare species of flora and fauna.
The route is divided into three levels of difficulty.
Trekking shoes are required (or closed and resistant ones).
